MIN3013 Introduction to Church Music

3 credits Church music exists to touch people's hearts and to guide, enrich, and upright the Christian worship and holy life. Students will learn not only the composition of instrumental and vocal music, but also the various uses of music for internal and external ministry in the church, the difficulty of evaluating church music, the importance of a praise leader, and skills as a leader. This course first presents the biblical basis of what the fundamental purpose of church music is, and provides practical guidelines for understanding the spiritual benefits of church music and the ministry of praise.
